This episode was recorded live in front of a YouTube audience. Friendship is magical and powerful. We can give and receive hope from those we care about. It’s time to build community and keep the energy flowing equally. Hilary calls it the girl power card, and often, the reverse side relates it back to gossip.
Homework: Follow us on Youtube and reach out to your communities. We have your backs. Stay safe, everyone!

Decks Mentioned
Jaymi: World of Warcraft Tarot by Joseph Lacroix, Surfside 3D Studio; and written by Ian Flynn.
Hilary: Tarot of the Sidhe by Emily Carding. Keyword: jubilance.
Melissa: The Sasuraibito Tarot by Stasia Burrington

We’re kicking off the minor threes with OUR favorite, the wands. In the Waite Smith deck, a figure looks over the water to see the ships. And apparently, they have a fanny pack (and jaymi says it’s full of snacks). Hilary looks at the card and sees it as a stepping stone moment. Look out to the horizon (big picture) and yet take care of details. Melissa says we can’t do this alone. There’s teamwork between this figure (Kevin) and the ships in the water. Jaymi says it’s time to put the plan into motion and ensure you have enough energy to carry it through.
Homework: Make your friendship bracelets. Grab a fanny pack and fill it with your favorite snacks to enjoy by the campfire. We slingers are hungry. Is anyone else hungry for snacks now?

Deck’s Mentioned
Jaymi: Deviant Moon Tarot (mini edition) by Patrick Valenzia, (Link goes to the large, borderless tarot); snacks are chocolate cake donuts or Sea Salt Mochi Rice Bites.
Hilary: Mystic Dreamer by Heidi Darras and Barbara Moore; snacks are Yodel’s.
Melissa: The Sasuraibito Tarot by Stasia Burrington; snacks Little Debbie’s Unicorn Cakes.

Episode 119: Do What You Can

Friday Feb 14, 2025

Friday Feb 14, 2025

Hang in there, ‘slingers. Your liberal, queer, fringe, witchy hosts are here to remind you that we love you. We have much more in common with one another. We stand with you. Find your community, get connected, and learn what you can do. Your existence is valid.

SPOILER ALERT ONE: Please, DO NOT LISTEN to this episode if you have not watched the entire Season 1 of AGATHA ALL ALONG. We spoil everything: tarot, witchcraft, and the MCU.
SPOILER ALERT TWO: This is a feature-length podcast. Jaymi and our producer, Kendra, decided to publish the full one-hour and 45-ish-minute episode for your pleasure. Jaymi recommends an extended “break” to enjoy this nerdy chat fully. Do some laundry, take an extra long walk (if you can), or do a deep clean of your house before listening. 😀
***
With the Spoiler Alerts out of the way, welcome to a long one. Enjoy this whole audio nerd-out experience of The Cardslingers discussing the 9-episode run of Agatha All Along. Grab a mug and settle in. For each episode, we discuss divination, magical points, and connections to the MCU. Then, we break down the cards and positions in the tarot community’s famous Episode 7, where we watch three readings being done and represented correctly.
Homework: Watch Agatha All Along (again) and try the Safe Passages spread for yourself. Let us know how it went!

Monday Dec 30, 2024

We made it to the end of 2024! As a nice wrap-up to our deep dive into the Twos that finished last year (teehee) and to honor the year ahead, we’re getting readings with the Twos. The magic of the twos is about finding balance within yourself during every stage of life.
Melissa showcases how to read with the Aces, the Twos, the Fool, the Magician, and the High Priestess, proving that you can do readings with a small pack of 11 cards. She also gives Jaymi and Hilary suggestions for spells to honor the reading. Melissa, as usual, reads us to filth using very few cards.
Homework: Shuffle your deck and draw cards until you reach the Fool. The card before The Fool is where you came from, and the card behind The Fool may tell you where you’re going or what needs to happen next!
See you all next year!

Friday Dec 13, 2024

Welcome back to the “every card in the deck” series. We’re back with the Two of Pentacles. Another stage card, this time, it’s all about physical balance. In the realm of the pentacles, this is all about work, home life, and finances. It’s difficult to be two people simultaneously; we’ll never be a whole person. Be kind to others because we never know what invisible things everyone is going through. We also get into a bit of the work around reading at events.

Welcome back to the “every card in the deck” series. We’re back with the Two of Swords, which happens to be a stage card. These cards often suggest we are looking at a movie or a fantasy scene rather than one rooted in reality. Here, we are being asked to calm our minds to make a clear decision. The moon reminds us to use intuition; even the blindfold tells us to go inside.

Today, we’re getting into the Two of Cups. This card is about trust and equality; no one needs to worry anymore. There is so much to unpack in the Rider Waite Smith deck. Lis dives deep into the symbolism and how it relates to the meaning, while Hilary reminds us why this card is excellent for relationship readings.

Friday Nov 08, 2024

Two two twos-day on Friday! Today, we’re diving into the Two of Wands, the fiery ball of brainstorming power. The mental plans are being developed to lead through to the end of the suit. It takes a lot of courage to look out into the distance and set plans in motion. Once again, we give our opinions of what the card means and share some favorite deck examples.
Homework: Start looking at your dreams. Either write down a dream or start listing micro-motions you can start doing.
